Not our product SAMe active was approved or objected. But the raw material S-Adenosyl-methionine SAMe was reassessed on May 20, 2026, as part of the European novel food procedure.
Thus, the raw material applies S-Adenosyl-methionine currently as a novel food without authorization. For this raw material to be allowed to be used legally in products, a complete novel food authorization procedure would now have to be undergone at EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) in order to scientifically prove that it is safe for health. As long as this authorization (which usually takes several years) is not listed in the Union list, the substance is blocked for regular products.
When assessing novel foods, the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (BLV) also closely follows European novel food regulations and the corresponding EU assessments.

For us as a responsible Swiss company, it is therefore clear: We are taking precautionary measures until regulatory approval as a novel food exists for this raw material.
We deeply regret this step, but we want to ensure that our products always comply with the applicable regulatory requirements.
